Are those sales at the stores really REAL?
I am on the email list for a famous store and am constantly getting notices of a pending sale. Most of the time I hit the delete key before I even go to the site. But this last notice got my attention.
Three Day Sale: 50% off everything! And I have a discount card that applies for everything I buy… which gives me another 20% off. So this time, I paid attention, went to the sale, and got all my seasonal clothing for next to nothing. (In fact, if I were smart, I would hi tail it back to the store and stock up on Christmas gifts… everyone needs a sweater or shirt once in a while!)
It’s surprising how the savings can add up. The local supermarket has coupons for 20¢ off each gallon of gas, if you purchase it at one of their associate stores. Today, that makes sense.
Admittedly, a lot of sales are bogus. They hike the prices up, so that the promised sale price is actually what the retail price would have been without the sale.
